The Blackprint is an online and print publication at American University. We serve as a platform for raising minority issues and an amplifier of marginalized voices. As a part of student media board, our primary goal is to inform people of what's going on in their school community, keep them up to date with the latest cultural happenings, cover local events, and highlight the work of student leaders. We invite all minds and majors on this endless journey to stay honest, stay brilliant and #staywoke.

ABOUT THE Founders
In 2016, Seniors Elisha Brown and Taryn Daniels created an extension of the American University Association of Black Journalists (AUABJ) titled 'The Blackprint'. Their goal was to create online publication that doubled as a safe space for people of color at American University. They left behind a legacy of representation and created a powerful amplifier for voices of future students of color at American University

About AUABJ
In 2014, American University Association of Black Journalists (AUABJ) launched as a student chapter of NABJ. It is dedicated to creating a community of minority media professionals on campus through networking opportunities and organizing events featuring communicators of color. One of those events, which grew out of NABJ, was "Voices" A series of events that facilitates conversations with minorities in media, featuring local D.C. journalists who give students crucial insight on how to navigate today's journalism environment.
