'Don't Be Scared, It's Only Music,' Local Musician Calls the Metro His Stage

BY: CRAIG STEVENS

Humanity's most intriguing stories can often be found in the lives of the ignored, suppressed or forgotten. The homeless man you pass on your daily commute. The N4 bus driver. The short old woman who cleans in your residence hall. They each possess narratives that we can appreciate and grow from.

The purpose of this video series is to illuminate some of these untold stories. For the first video, I spent some time with Raymond Curtis Johnson, aka "Fiddla," a concert violinist who plays for donations in the Tenleytown-AU Metro station. Our conversation revealed a history of international performances and healing through melodies, plus the police officers that tried to stop him.

Be sure to check out Fiddla's website for booking information and more on his life in music.
